I'm David Batista

David was born in the Dominican Republic and currently lives in Batey Brador. A Batey is a shanty-town camp where sugarcane cutters live. We have come alongside this Batey in Brador to help care for children. David is a very hard worker and helps cut cane and does study very hard. In his free time he likes to ride his bike. His mother, Emiliana, is unemployed and does not get help from David's father. She does not even know where he is anymore. David gets along well with his mother's partner and that is who he helps in the cane fields. The family has limited documentation.
