We're Moving!

ATTENTION: This form affects your legal rights; please read carefully. This Agreement must be signed by each adult volunteer, who also signs for any of their own children under 18 listed on the sign-up form. It covers painting (including cleaning and scraping) and outdoor work on the property at Bold Hope’s new office, 10 Beulah Rd., New Britain, PA 18901, on the Saturdays selected on the sign-up form.

I, the undersigned, am familiar with the nature of the painting, cleanup, and outdoor work that will take place at Bold Hope’s new office in New Britain, Pennsylvania (the “event”), and I choose to volunteer. I acknowledge that my participation is voluntary and unpaid.

I recognize that there are foreseeable and unforeseeable risks and hazards directly or inherently involved in painting, scraping, cleanup, and outdoor work in a building and on a property under renovation, including exposure to paint, paint chips, fumes, dust, and cleaning products; weather, uneven ground, and plants and insects outdoors; slips, trips, and falls; lifting and carrying; and the use of tools and equipment. I acknowledge that Bold Hope does not control every possible risk and makes no representation of safety. I voluntarily assume all responsibility and risk for my participation, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, communicable disease, property damage, injury to others, and other hazards.

I agree to follow the reasonable instructions of Bold Hope staff and volunteer leaders, to act in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of myself or others, and to stop any activity that I believe is unsafe. I understand that volunteers under 18 may help with painting and cleanup only, and may not use ladders, power tools, or chemicals.

I understand that Bold Hope is not an insurer of volunteers’ behavior or actions and that Bold Hope assumes no liability whatsoever for personal injuries or property damages to volunteers or to third persons arising out of this event. I agree to indemnify and hold Bold Hope and its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents (collectively, the “Releasees”) harmless.

To the extent permitted by law, I hereby agree to covenant not to sue, and to indemnify, release and hold harmless the Releasees from all liability whatsoever arising out of my participation in this event, including any claims, demands, actions or causes of action related to property damage or injury resulting from the negligence of me, of others, or of the Releasees. I agree to pay any attorney fees or other costs incurred by the Releasees in enforcing this Agreement.

It is my express intent that this Release shall bind the members of my family, and my estate, heirs, administrators, personal representatives, or assigns. I further agree to save and hold harmless, indemnify, and defend the Releasees from any claim by my family arising out of my participation in this event.

This Release shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and venue for disputes arising from this Release shall be in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. If any term or provision of this Release shall be held illegal, unenforceable, or in conflict with any law, the validity of the remaining portions shall not be affected.

I state that I am 18 years of age or older and fully competent to sign this Release. I voluntarily execute this document after carefully reading its terms and with full knowledge of its contents and consequences, and my signature has not been obtained under duress. Permission to use photographs is separate: it is given only by the optional checkbox on the sign-up form, and declining it does not affect my sign-up.
