I'm Deon Oh

Deon comes from a Maya Mopan cultural background. His favorite color is green, and his favorite food is beans and tortillas. Deon enjoys playing with his little brother and loves going to school each day. Deon lives with his parents and his younger brother. His father works very hard on a banana farm to provide for the family. However, even with his father’s hard work, the income is often not enough to cover all the family’s expenses and provide enough food for the household. The family currently lives in Deon’s grandparents’ house. Deon demonstrates joy, kindness, and hope. When he grows up, he dreams of becoming a teacher so he can help children learn and succeed.
