The Need
Our partners in Costa Rica are located in underserved villages where churches were not the norm prior to their arrival. They are passionate about seeing the gospel go forth and lives changed by tangible acts of service. As we come alongside their work we will be participating in physical service, children's ministry, community outreach, as well as seeking to meet other needs as they arise.

Demographics
Costa Rica is a popular regional immigration destination because of its job opportunities and social programs. Almost 9% of the population is foreign-born, with Nicaraguans comprising nearly three-quarters of the foreign population. 83% of the population is white or mestizo (people of mixed blood, especially one having Spanish and indigenous descent).
Economy
Costa Rica exports many products including bananas, coffee, sugar, and beef. Ecotourism is also an important source of revenue for this small nation. However, poverty levels have been around 20-25% for nearly 20 years and a rising budget deficit could hurt further development.
